Loofah Factory Audit Checklist for Importers
An importer's factory audit should go beyond a photo tour and confirm the operational details that predict consistent supply. Whether conducted in person, virtually, or through a third-party service, the same core questions apply.
Raw material sourcing and traceability
Ask where raw loofah is grown or purchased, whether supply is seasonal, and how the factory manages availability during off-season periods. Seasonal gaps can affect lead times for large or recurring orders.
Processing capability and capacity
Confirm equipment and manual capacity for cutting, stitching, drying and packing, and ask for realistic monthly output figures rather than theoretical maximums. Cross-check capacity claims against your target order volume and delivery schedule.
Quality control records
Request examples of past QC records, defect logs or inspection reports. A factory that already documents its own quality process is generally better positioned to meet a buyer's external QC requirements.
Export experience and compliance
Ask about prior experience shipping to your destination market, familiarity with required documentation, and any existing certifications or audits completed for other clients. Direct references from other export buyers are worth requesting.
