Private Label Loofah for the EU: GPSR, Packaging and Traceability
Private label loofah for the EU requires coordination between the manufacturer and the EU-side economic operators. The factory can supply product and production information, while the importer or brand owner must determine its legal role and ensure the final product is compliant. Map the economic operators
Identify the manufacturer, importer, distributor, fulfillment provider and EU responsible economic operator before artwork approval. Record legal names and postal/electronic contact details in the format required for the product and sales channel.
Build a product file
Maintain the specification, bill of materials, supplier declarations, product and packaging images, batch identification approach, test or assessment records, risk assessment, instructions, complaints process and corrective-action contacts. Documentation depth should match the product and identified risks.
GPSR checks for physical and online sales
The GPSR applies from 13 December 2024. It covers consumer products not fully governed by more specific product-safety rules and includes online offers targeted to EU consumers. Traceability, safety information and online listing fields should be checked before launch. Exact obligations depend on the product and operator role.
Packaging, PPWR and EPR
Do not equate paper packaging with automatic compliance. Check packaging composition, minimization, labeling and recyclability requirements, plus national EPR registration, reporting and fees. The PPWR entered into force on 11 February 2025 and generally applies from 12 August 2026, with some provisions following different timelines.
EVFTA and customs
Preferential tariff treatment is conditional on classification and origin requirements. Confirm the exact CN code, current rate and proof of origin for each product configuration before claiming a tariff advantage.
